If you were wondering where Window over Washington was yesterday, it was stuck in my head. It was a long day that included getting bit by a dog for the first time in my life. All is well, but it got me thinking about how we communicate, especially here and now in the US.
As you might recall me mentioning, I am apprenticing as an expert tree and shrub pruner. In just a few weeks this has exposed me to some of the loveliest private properties I have ever had the pleasure to wander. Even the ones that are not so grand are exquisite in that the owners care and love them, as is obvious in many ways, including that they hire the outfit where I am working since we are all considered not just experts but artisans (or, I will be at some point).
The job has also exposed me to some hazards such as falling down a rain soaked fieldstone stairway and roughing up my rump side pretty good. Poison ivy. Heat exhaustion. And now, a pitbull dog bite.
