You won’t believe this but it is true: I now can add “raven” to my list of recent big bird spottings. I haven’t ever seen one in Maryland before. Checking the state’s department of wildlife and natural resources website, that I spotted one near the banks of the Potomac near Fletcher’s Cove just north of Georgetown is highly unusual, given that if they are in the state at all, they tend to hang out in the extreme western part of the state, in the mountains.
I was in the park I like to walk, the Rails-to-Trails one I mentioned before, on a long chatty walk with my writing buddy. Since the shutdown prevents us from having our bi-weekly meetings in coffee shops to review each other’s latest work, we’ve been walking and talking through the park every other week instead. And yes, we wear our masks.
