“We live in Capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.” - Ursula K. Le Guin
Greetings,
As promised in last issue, at least for the time being, I am keeping the fare not necessarily lighter, but because it is rich, I am serving smaller portions.
Below is the link to the piece I said I would re-post something I wrote about what it means to be American, how our nation is both a concept and a tangibility.
Below is the link to that piece, but before you sink your mental teeth into it, I’d like to say thank you for all the sharing of the previous post about indigenous americans that so many of you did. It was among the most read I have ever published, and it was a patron-only post.
So, perhaps consider becoming a patron subscriber if you liked it and aren’t already!
Also, per usual, my ratio of people who commented on the piece compared to the number of people who read it is utter crap. So, if you have something to say, please say it in the comments section!
At the very least, click the little heart button and let me know you at least liked the return on your investment of your precious time in something I thought out loud.
Thank you, always, for all your support, in whatever way.
And while you’re here, you might also want to check out:
Peace,
Whitney
