You’re right: WTF. And why WSJ published it is sort of mysterious . There is no through line or cohesion that I can follow. Other than tyrants become dead weight or targets? The plebes eventually turn on them? I do think about his point that once the apocalypse occurs, wealth will mean nothing. So that’s kind of interesting to ponder in terms of the uber rich dudes’ plans to flee and ride it out. Finally, it reminds me of the recent TV show Paradise. Similar premise to the billionaires fleeing to their bunker.
Hi, Jane! Always happy to see you here. Nods of agreement to your observations about Mamet's op-ed, but re money, I think the turning point of the piece was supposed to be when he mentions crypto currency, but he never finished the thought. Yes, one gleans that money will mean nothing once these fuckwads go under ground, but what does have to do with Biden?
yeah...that last line was such giant left turn to....nowhere? He just starts various concepts and threads and then never knits them into anything or leads us to any conclusion. Kind of a head shaker, right?
Love your writing and thinking always!xo
It is my pleasure to have you read what I write, Val. x

The best I could do was think he was randomly reeling off examples of greed but not always justifying why.
